The North Star

Their journey to freedom in Buckingham, Pennsylvania, in 1849 is told in The North Star by Benjamin "Big Ben" Jones and Moses Hopkins. Huge at6'10", Big Ben is the target of every slave hunter on the East Coast. In addition to danger and cruelty, their trip reveals the Underground Railroad's unexpected kindness. These encounters will forever alter Ben and Moses. Ben and Moses experience life as free men after reaching Mt.
